CLIMATE CHANGE TO BE INTRODUCED IN ZAMBIA’S CURRICULUM

By President Edgar Chagwa Lungu

The current great battle of the ages is climate change; whose devastating effects become more evident everyday as it increasingly threatens the existence of mankind and wildlife, livelihoods and desired pace of economic growth and development, and ravages our natural environment. Therefore, in order to address the phenomenon of climate change in an integrated, broader and sustainable manner, climate change will be introduced in Zambia’s Curriculum from Primary to Secondary School.

By so doing, we shall collectively amass sophisticated knowledge and skills at national and community level, to immediately mitigate the destructive impact of climate change; while also, generating new knowledge and skills on climate change mitigation and adaptation interventions, for the benefit of the present and future generations.

Let us work together in waging a vigorous fight against a force of nature that is negatively affecting us all – climate change.

Together, We Shall Overcome!
